  • Team World Vision

Many of you know I'm training to run a half marathon in April. Quite a few have asked me what I'm running for. Well, as of today, I'm running to end poverty as part of Team World Vision. If you'd like to help support by efforts, you can do so easily online by visiting my donation page: http://www.firstgiving.com/jenniferharris

Even if you don't have the means for a financial donation, I recommend checking out the World Vision site and learning about who they are and what they do.

  • How beautiful of you!  I'll check it out :)

ryc:  Yes, you should!  I'd be thrilled!!

  • HAHA!  I almost just accidentally reported you for Inappropriate Conduct.  Oh no that would have been unfortunate.

    However....

If you keep talking about visiting and do NOT visit.  Then maybe I will have to do something drastic.  Inappropriate Content?  Hmmmmm.....

    ;)

  • Well oh my goodness! Yay, this is very exciting!! You'll love it here.... hard not to :)
And the best months to come are late May through October :) When are you thinking??
  • you know, i've often wondered what white people think about that.  i know personally that we have been conditioned to hate ourselves (and in many cases kill ourselves).  i remember times when i was younger and i used to wish i was white.  i've also drawn the conclusion (maybe incorrectly) that a lot of people involved with the catholic worker and jesus radical movements do it at least in part to reverse the racism of their forefathers.  but is shame really an appropriate emotion?  i don't know, i've never really thought of it from the view of a white person.  after all, it wasn't you who chained my peoples.  i don't really think i have an answer... nor am i qualified to give one.  as someone who's actually trying to do something about it, what do you think?
